Lagawe MDC

Lagawe Multipurpose Development Cooperative

"We help you prepare because we care"

Cooperative Profile

Solidarity • Mutual Support • Collective Progress

Established in 1984, we are anchored on the Seven Cooperative Principles. It was established to harness shared resources, build common strength, and unite individuals in working together for the common good, guided by its vision of a stable cooperative providing quality products and services needed by the members and the community.

Anchored on the Seven Cooperative Principles—voluntary and open membership; democratic member control; members’ economic participation; autonomy and independence; education, training, and information; cooperation among cooperatives; and concern for community—alongside the core Cooperative Values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity, Lagawe MDC upholds the belief that collective effort leads to stronger and more resilient outcomes for both its members and the communities it serves. Lagawe MDC empowers its members by providing accessible financial services, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and development programs that enhance economic security and improve overall quality of life. Each member is not only a beneficiary but also an owner and active partner in growth, actively participating in decision-making processes that shape the cooperative’s direction and future. Beyond individual benefits, Lagawe MDC plays a vital role in community development. By fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and shared responsibility, the cooperative contributes to local economic growth, supports social development initiatives, and promotes inclusive and sustainable progress. Its impact is reflected not only in improved livelihoods but also in stronger families, empowered members, and a more resilient community. Driven by its mission to improve the quality of life of its members and the community, and steadfast in its vision of being a stable cooperative delivering quality, responsive, and sustainable products and services, Lagawe MDC remains committed to service excellence, sustainable growth, and collective prosperity.
